The Garner Rescue Squad is a combination paid/volunteer organization that provides heavy rescue and BLS non emergency transport services to the citizens of Garner and Wake County. This organization is made up of two separate divisions, each with their own individual responsibilities.
RESCUE Division:
The Rescue Division provides heavy rescue services to the citizens of Garner and Wake County. These services include but are not limited to: vehicle/machinery extrication, water rescue, high and low angle rescue, confined space rescue, structural collapse rescue and land search and rescue. The Garner Rescue Squad provides these services utilizing a combination of paid and volunteer staff members. The rescue fleet contains two heavy rescue trucks, three rescue boats and an ATV. The full time members are titled Engineers and work the countywide A/B/C shift schedule.
Garner Medical Transport :
The Garner Medical Transport Division provides BLS non emergency ambulance and wheelchair transports. This division contracts with area nursing homes and hospitals to provide these services. Garner Medical Transport will transport stretcher and wheelchair bound residents from their homes to medical appointments as well. Special Events:
The Garner Rescue Squad will provide Emergency Medical Technicians and first aid equipment for special events and public gatherings. Please contact Chief Frederick for price quotes. |
