The Garner area remained under a Winter Storm Warning from 1800 hours on Friday 1/29/2010 through midnight on Saturday 1/30/2010.  Though the snow accumulations were not what was anticipated, the roads became treacherous quickly.  After the storm passed, the area remained under a Winter Weather Advisory until 12 noon on Monday 2/1/2010 due to icy conditions on the roadways.  Total snow accumulations ranged in this area from 3 - 6 inches and the sleet and ice accumulations were several inches as well.

The Garner EMS & Rescue Squad answered over 50 calls during this time frame and 11 of them were MVC's.  Just prior to the Storm Warning taking effect, the Garner Medical Transport Division answered close to 30 calls on Friday utilizing five BLS ambulances during the daytime hours.

Units staffed during this event included Garner EMS Chief 800, Chief 801, EMS81, EMS82, EMS83, Squad 881, Squad 882 and BLS 871 and 878.
